Guidelines

General
☀️ The check in and submission schedule can be found here.

☀️ Contributors will be expected to complete at least one finished piece of writing or art for this zine.

☀️ If contributors wish to provide more for the zine, they may request to create a second piece (art, writing, beta reading, or merch) once they have completed their initial piece.

☀️ Contributors are highly encouraged to collaborate with one another and will have the opportunity to connect in the discord for collaborative pieces (collaborative art pieces/writing, fic for art, art for fic, etc.)

☀️ The zine will be accepting NSFW pieces, so contributors must be over the age of 18.

☀️ Contributors do not need to have created QuanYin works or TGCF works previously.
Page Artists

☀️ To accommodate home printing, all digital art pieces will need to be 5.5x4.25 inches and colors will need to be set to CYMK.

☀️ All digital pieces must be 300 dpi, in portrait orientation, and in PNG format.

☀️ Traditional works must be submitted as a high-quality scan, in portrait orientation, and in PNG format. The dimensions of the scan must be 5.5x4.25 inches.

☀️ Artists may submit comics of up to ten pages in length (provided those pages meet the dimensions of the zine [SMALL])

☀️ Pieces should be original works (no AI, whole-image tracing, or stolen art) that have not been previously posted. The pieces must focus on the relationship between Quan Yizhen and Yin Yu.

☀️ If artists wish to include any special assets, borders, effects, or layers in their piece, they may do so in a separate file attached to their final submission. They will also need to contact our graphic design and formatting mod to set up their page(s). Assets must be original or legally acquired free-use files (no AI, whole-image tracing, or stolen art).
Cover Art

☀️ Artists may apply to be the cover artist on their initial application, either as their only piece or in addition to their page art.

☀️ All requirements for page art will apply to cover art.
Merch Art

☀️ If there is artist interest, the mods would like to include “printable merch” in the zine. This would include items that fans could cut out of paper to laminate or craft with, like bookmarks, papercraft, paper dolls, photocards, etc.

☀️ If you are interested in creating small, printable merch, please indicate this on your application.
Writers

☀️ Final submissions for fanfics may be 500 to 5,000 words.

☀️ Poetry submissions may be shorter than 500 words.

☀️ All works should be original pieces (no AI or plagiarism) that have not been previously posted

☀️ Pieces should be coherent and focus on the relationship between Quan Yizhen and Yin Yu.

☀️ Writers will submit their pieces on Google Docs.

☀️ Writers should submit their pieces in English. If they have had someone translate their fic into English from a different language, they will need to include the name of the person who translated it.

☀️ Fics do not need to be looked over by a beta reader, but we highly encourage participants to contact one of the betas from within the project to review their work. Our writer mod will be making corrections to minor issues, such as typos and misspellings, for final pieces.

☀️ Writers should submit clean work that they are proud of.
Beta Readers

☀️ Beta readers must be willing to read and offer constructive critique/advice on pieces of up to 5,000 words in a timely manner.
